Webron’s raids become more frequent and violent until, unable to bear what he has become, Sartis returns to Tapisillium to try to regain control, but unknown to her Webron is the illegitimate child of the old king of Etruria. When she attempts to curse him his Truro blood causes her magic to miscarry transforming him into a snake man with powers to rival even her own and she is forced to flee back to Sourwood again.
