In Etruria, reports of a growing number of missing people have been coming into the court only to be ignored. With blind faith in the strength of their prophetic abilities, the Truro unequivocally dismiss the abductions as rumour, yet The Winged Lion remains suspicious. Venturing from Etruria he leaves to consult the Banshee, ancient beings of wild magic, far more instinctive than that of the courts. They tell him of Webron’s subversions and forewarn of a terrible attack at The May Day Fayre, a festival where hundreds of citizens will be gathered. However, when the lion returns to warn the courts KING ETOR is enraged by his advisor’s impertinence and will not be swayed, but on the evening of the fayre the Banshee’s prophecy is fulfilled and the Scaux mistakenly abduct a Truro girl, DESDINA. Finally the King is made to see the truth behind the stories. Apologizing for his failings he requests all who will fight to gather in Etruria where he assembles his army to go to war on Tapisillium.
